"Sergeant, your new orders are to find me a carrier."
Colin Davis to Craig Randall after seeing Bastion at Azura.

The CNV Bastion was a Bastion-class escort carrier and lead ship of her class. Launched in mid-32 B.E., Bastion served with distinction throughout the Pendulum Wars, guarding Esweni convoys and other UIR naval operations until mid-27 B.E., when Eswen was invaded and annexed by the COG, where it was transferred to Coalition service, being redesignated CNV Bastion. In 17 B.E., the Coalition began phasing out the current piston-driven aircraft and replaced them with the new Petrel Strike Fighter-Bomber, unfortunately, due to jet aircraft needing longer runways, the flight deck of the Bastions was insufficient to carry the new fighters, so the decision was made to convert them to helicopter carriers to carry the new King Ravens. Bastion was the first to undergo the conversion, completing it in mid-17 B.E., a month after the completion of the CNV Titus Vinicius Vocula, the first ship of the class purpose built to fulfill their new role.
