Maj. David Pliskin was a Gear soldier during both the Pendulum Wars and the Locust War. He commands the Algangi Militia and sees it as his duty to protect the citizens of Algangi and enforce the Fortification Act. He is the father of Steven, Alice and Martin and the grandfather of four unnamed children.

Personality & Traits

David is a hardened, elderly man in his early sixties. His physical appearance is greatly at odds with his age as he has remained in top physical condition regardless of his growing age. While many would think him weak because of his age, this is far from the truth. David has enough strength left in his old bones to puncture Locust hide with the bayonet of his Mk.1 Lancer and subsequently throw the fallen enemy to the floor in triumph.

In terms of attitude, David is as hard as his appearance leads one to expect. He often does what must be done, even if he doesn't like the idea or if his planned actions go against the advice of his peers - which gives him sound leadership ability. His daughter, Alice, reckons this is why so many follow and look up to him within the Algangi Militiamen. One of the most controversial schemes which David has backed within Algangi is the Algangi Birthing Creche, which his own daughter was a member of until she was labelled barren.

David mostly steers his own ship mostly but knows when to accept help and the advice of others and isn't above dishing out tongue lashings to those he feels deserves them. He believes strongly in the ideology of the COG, as well as the spirit if teamwork. He makes constant reference to his communities survival as a sign of their teamwork and willingness to survive and uses past events, such as E-Day and the Hammer of Dawn counterattack, to great effect to demonstrate this while at the same time painting the COG in a good light.
